Calm partnered with Hilton to bring a curated Calm experience to in-room TVs across 2,000 Hilton properties worldwide. This was Calm’s first venture into TV-based platforms, designed to help guests relax during their stay while driving awareness and mobile app downloads.
I partnered closely with engineering to design and build this new experience on Android TV—a platform outside Calm’s typical mobile-first ecosystem. Together, we delivered a lightweight wrapper app that featured a curated feed of 20 Calm sessions, including one exclusive Hilton-branded piece. The app required no login, was optimized for global use, and included a persistent QR code directing guests to a Calm landing page with a special offer.
I led the design of the content experience, ensuring it was easy to navigate from the TV remote, visually aligned with both Calm and Hilton brand guidelines, and tailored for a guest’s in-room environment. I also supported QA and implementation, troubleshooting across devices and refining the UI based on technical constraints.
Since launch, the Calm TV experience has been deployed to 385,000+ Hilton TVs and sees over 5,000 sessions every evening. The project expanded Calm’s reach to millions of travelers and established a scalable foundation for future hospitality partnerships.
